What is tta1?

tta1 ("text to audio") is a web service that reads articles, newsletters, X threads and documents aloud. You paste a link or some text, pick a voice and a listening language, and audio starts within seconds. It is run by Pixel Online, an Australian business (its ABN is listed in the Terms), and it is very new: the domain was registered at the end of September 2026.

What sets it apart from the text-to-speech built into browsers and phones is text cleanup: tta1 keeps only the body of the article and drops menus, ads, cookie banners and comments. It also translates before reading, so an article written in German or Spanish can be heard directly in English.

Main Features

How Does tta1 Work?

On the home page you paste a link or text, choose the voice and the language to listen in, and press "Listen". Without an account you can try it on short texts; a free account gives you a monthly word allowance. You only pay for what is read: replaying a reading you already made does not use words.

Pages behind a login or paywall cannot be fetched: in that case you paste the text or upload screenshots of the article, and tta1 reads them in the order you set, ignoring app buttons and status bars.

The Free plan costs nothing, needs no card and includes 1,000 words a month (about 7 minutes of listening) from links and pasted text. Plus costs $6 a month for 25,000 words (about 3 hours) and adds PDF, Word, screenshots and MP3 downloads; Pro costs $12 a month for 50,000 words (about 6 hours). Extra packs of 25,000 words cost $5 and never expire.

Final Verdict

tta1 is a simple, inexpensive way to listen to articles and threads instead of reading them, with automatic translation as a bonus. The 1,000 free words are enough to decide whether you like the voices; daily users will need at least Plus. Since the service has only just launched, start with a monthly plan before committing long term.
